CapitaLand – an insight into life through team building

Although having listened to Vietmark’s advice about the bad weather, CapitaLand still determined to select Hoi An as the destination for team building program in 2011, it is usually very cold and drizzly at the end of the year. CapitaLand want each employee to feel the real daily life of local people, even in bad weather conditions.

In the morning of December 3rd, 2011, the weather was rather good at Hoi An with light wind and sunlight tempting everyone to join in the program. 120 CapitaLand employees with many nationalities were ready for team building program, starting point was at La Belhami resort. Through some funny and team dividing activities, 10 teams with 10 colorful flags were waiting for the order to start finding the dream from everyday life through team building program "Dare to dream - Dare to do ".

The wind became stronger and stronger, cold north-eastern winds mixed with the sea salt of Central Coastal Plain. The sky seemed lower, clouds full of water hanging over on the trees. The members of each team wore raincoats quickly to get start conquering the challenge. All the teams selected taxi for transportation after they have calculated the budget received from the organizer.

Teams used the GPS device to discover the coordinates that were hidden from the organizer in the corner of Hoi An town, or on flooded fields. The sooner team came to the station and tried to complete the task, the more points team got. Teams were interested in the game of making lanterns, joining in Vietnamese Opera and polishing ceramic. Many teams lost points in the game of planting potatoes and wood making due to the lack of patience and unreasonable work assignment.

End of the program, each dream was written down carefully after team had overcome many challenges throughout the journey. Sharing dreams about family, work, ... for the team mates. CapitaLand together made the dreams come true. To get a better life under the common roof Capitaland, all the staffs had to try their best to work and achieve.
