October, the Bach Ma national Park has few customers. There are sporadic rains. The fog not only sways by the mountain but also “climb” to the route of tourists occasionally. However, The Bach Ma national Park has had an exciting day when Vietmark Co. organized a trip for 66 main members of VinaGame to cross the forest, meet and join interesting team activities based on team building- a kind of tourism.
The combination between the comforts of advanced resorts and the wildness of the mountain and forest is a requirements of meeting conference, team building and relax of companies now. The Bach Ma national Park and Lang Co Beach resort meet this requirement.
Prepare carefully.
What VinaGame wants is to take advantage of the last three days of the week to meet, then go to the forest both to relax and practice team building but not to do too much physical exercise. Vietmark decided two destinations included Lang Co Beach Resort and the Bach Ma National Park. Especially, the schedule of the day in Bach Ma has to be designed cleverly between recreation and learning because their customers had to join the meeting from day to evening the previous day.
Before starting the trip, within a day of climbing, 3 representatives of Vietmark and VinaGame crossed the forest themselves in advance to choose the most suitable route: walk about 2.2 kilometers, wade across the stream, climb the slope following Ngu Ho trail and will not repeat. The starting place is the 16th kilometer and the destination id the 17th kilometer at Do Quyen restaurant. Mr. Lam Quang Thuan (VinaGame Co.) said: “the purpose of team building of VinaGame is to gain the balance in sufficiency so the route in Bach Ma is long, high enough, has enough breaks, beautiful landscapes and also terrestrial leech.
Marketing manager of Vietmark who introduced Bach Ma national Park to VinaGame and studied the route himself explained: “In the Ngu Ho trail, there are more hazardous stretch of roads such as follow wooden ladder to arrive 5 lakes, but this is not suitable with a team with many people because the route must guarantee the safe of tourists though there are doctors at the middle group. This is the first time Vietmark hold team building in Bach Ma national Park. In order to make the tourists surprise and add some challenges for them, 66 members of VinaGame were divided into groups. They crossed the forest and took part in activities by maps and global positioning system which were installed by Vietmark.
Therefore, Vietmark’s employees had to bring equipment which used in the games from Saigon to Bach Ma, not include the strings, pipes and bamboo bought in Da Nang, Hue. Many of them left sweat when they crossed the forest 2 times with the same route, one to arrange the game and one to join with the customers.
The enthusiasm and interest of this first trip is not only in the holder of the trip but also in the tourists.
The majority of VinaGame’s employees do physical activities frequently. The company often organizes the time to do exercise in group, encourage them to swim together, play table tennis, kick a shuttle cock, play tennis and play badminton at the weekend. Mr. Nguyen Hoai An prepared more carefully: “I go upstairs in all the morning of the week on foot (not by lift as usual) and bought good shoes to protect myself from slippery road in the forest.”
Before entering the forest, Mr. Son who has worked as Forest warden in Bach Ma for 14 years with many experiences said something “mysterious” and new to members of the trip: “if you look up, you will not see snakes, centipedes and terrestrial leechs on the ground, especially rattle – snakes which usually appear equal to our eyes. Do not eat colorful things. Do not touch unclear things. Do not catch the bush or old branches, in case you can fall. And you should not call each other by name in the forest because according to spirit, you will be remembered by forest genie.
The botany system in Bach Ma National Park has 501 species of 351 breeds and 124 families in which there are 158 kinds of timber, 102 kinds of medicinal plants, 35 kinds of ornamental plants, 26 kinds of fiber tree, 122 kinds of fruit tree. The zoology system has 55 kinds of animals in 23 species and 9 classes, 158 kinds of bird in 37 species and 14 classes. Bach Ma forest in the rainy season, trees and leaves are watery, Go Dong flower (belongs to tea species) spread the ground with white and light yellow on the trail of the tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duc seems to be a poet when walking in Bach Ma forest “I used to trek in Cat Tien National Park but I still like the romance here. What I like best is to see the fog which is flying and feel like listening the sound of the spring all the time.”
The interesting thing is Vietmark arranges many games to train quickly to strengthen the solidarity among VianGame’s members on one hand. On the other hand is to make the suitable breaks between every stretch of road which seems to be thrilling such as the game “looking for corpse” hidden in the neglected and ruin French villas in the forest by GPS. This game is started right after tourists finish the last stretch 400 meters; the forest crossed journey is climbing the slope at more than 900m to 1200m in height.
Moreover, the natural challenges also encourage team spirit as boys are willing to carry girls on his back to cross the quite deep stretch of spring. Mr. Truong Danh Thanh Tu said: “I don’t know it is accidental or intentional, the leaders of groups in the company are always the pioneers who fall upon the challenges and obstacles in team building tour. That is the way for VinaGame to realize that we are having appropriate and enthusiastic leaders.”
The series of games which is suitable with active manner of VinaGame has a meaningful “silent moment” when tourists enjoys the fifth lake in “Ngu Ho” to present with topic “forest preservation”
Although the requirement is each group chooses 20 kinds of leaves to make a picture on a hard cover to describe their forest preservation stories, group 3 choose antithesis… choose 5 kinds of leaves and explain cleverly that “we cannot pluck 20 kinds of leaves to talk about forest preservation”
A member of group 3, Nguyen Thanh Duc said: “At the time the organization board brought this topic out, we immediately had the idea of antithesis besides the second topic “rhino preservation for Vietnamese forest. These two topics just use dried leaves, branches, fern and grass. The result is not important but the team spirit and intelligent and funny learning are the award received from this trip.”
At the finish, not every one knows this is the first time Nguyen Hoai An have trekked in the forest long (more than 3 hours). An said: “I was exhausted at the last 200m when climbing the last slope because of getting hungry and cold weather. In addition, it was going to rain, every body tried to walk quickly, it is quite dangerous. Before starting the trip, I felt hesitate but when I catch the finish, I feel very excited and believe that if I have determination, I can do any difficult work.”
Through team building, Vietmark and VinaGame have awaked the silence of Bach Ma forest in the season when there are not many customers there and also got the effect of work for both. This one more time affirms that the active manner brings the success to life.
Bach Ma National Park was established in 1991 and is now considered the range of natural green forest which is a link between north and west weather and extend from the Vietnam-Laos border to the East Sea. It is 22, 031 ha in area. The scenery here is both impressive and romantic with range of mountains (the top of Bach Ma is 1450 meters higher than sea level) and a series of beautiful waterfalls.
